Paddletail Newt
(Pachytriton labiatus)
This newt is kind of secretive. It spends most of its time hidden in
one of the two under-water caves it has in its tank. One is a large
hole in a wooden branch, the other one an aquarium decoration in form
of a shoe. It is really impressive to see it turn around in the
little shoe. At feeding time, the newt comes out to explore.
