Rice Paddy Frog
(Occidozyga lima)
We have one frog that they called floating spotted frog in the pet
store where we got it. We believe, it is a rice paddy frog. If you
think we are wrong, please let us
know. Its distinctive feature that not all rice paddy frogs
seem to have is a white line along its back.
It likes to float on the water surface, holding onto a plant
or a rock with one or two of its legs only, nothing but the eyes above
the surface. Most of the time we feed it worms with tweezers. It
quickly attacks the food we hold in front of it. We also give it a
small cricket once in a while.
